The Missions Experience

HE IS RISEN!!  What a great way to begin a new month.  Everything is fresh and new. Bluebonnets are out and the birds are singing; witnesses of His majesty. Our God is an awesome God!!

Our Bible in One Year is taking us through the final steps of the life of Christ. We begin with Judas’ betrayal and the Last Supper. One emotional time for all. But that is not the end. We know how it ends. It is the greatest story ever told.

Don’t forget to check out our website. This is your source for What’s Happening at FBC Charlotte. You can discover and sign up for events, give tithes and offerings, and contact us. Our Mission Opportunities

We have so many opportunities for you to reach out and become involved. Remember, your home and work is your mission field. Consider inviting someone to church or an event. We have many opportunities. The men have Men’s Fireside on April 2nd. The women have a discipleship class every other Sunday. And the Youth always have something going on. Check our What’s Happening page often for more info.

FBCC Children’s Ministry News

We recently had our daddy daughter banquet. It was so much fun seeing daughters and moms decorate tables, and dads dressed up with their beautiful daughters participating in the daddy/daughter grams. We thank every volunteer in the kitchen preparing plates and the young men from the youth department waiting on tables; each one of you that made this banquet possible. The homemade lasagnas and desserts were delicious. You made It a memorable night with great attendance.

The children’s choir also visited Argent Court and blessed the residents immensely with their voices praising our Lord in song. Following the performance, we had a play day at the park, deepening our friendships through playing together.

Sid and I want to thank our church family for all your support when Sid’s mother passed. We appreciated all who attended her funeral and brought us food to feed our guests. We feel very blessed to be a part of this great community of believers.

Now we look ahead to summer events as we close out the school year. VBS and Alto Frio Camps will be here before you know it. VBS training takes place on April 28. Please contact Sharon Mayberry or me if you are interested in serving.

A Word From Pastor Duane

 2 Samuel 11:1 says:
“It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go to out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.”

This was the beginning of some very dark days in David’s life. He wasn’t where he belonged, doing what he was supposed to do – consequently, he sinned, and his sin took him farther away from God.

We are in the spring of the year as well – are you where you belong, doing what you are supposed to be doing? If you are not, please hear this warning – get where you belong and do what you are supposed to be doing. Don’t allow anything to get you into that place of sin. Resist the temptation. The Holy Spirit will lead you well, follow Him!

How are you progressing in memorizing Colossians 1:27-28? Don’t give up, keep being faithful to hide these verses of God’s word in your heart. Share them with other folks in our church, your family, friends, co-workers, and other students at school. But don’t stop there, preach, and teach Jesus to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus!

God is doing some amazing work in our lives, families, and our church. To God be the GLORY! Let’s work together to keep united, keep serving and encouraging each other while telling others about and inviting them to Jesus.

              I love you ALL!

                             ~~Pastor Duane
