The Missions Experience

Hello December. Another year has come and gone. What an amazing ride of blessing from the Lord and an exciting picture of what 2025 will bring. Thank you church family for your faithfulness and love for others.

In our Bible in One Year, we wrap up with the book of Revelation. If you desire to know more about Revelation, check out our  Revelation Bible Study we had earlier this year. It’s available on our YouTube Channel.

You can also preview our new Bible in One Year Plan. This year we will study the entire Bible from Genesis through Revelation. Join us as we study God’s Word together as a church family!!

You can visit the website for all of  What’s Happening at FBC Charlotte. It has just been updated. You can read about and sign up for events, give tithes and offerings, and contact us.

We now have an ASL interpreter available for our second service!

Our Mission Opportunities

This month we have a couple of opportunities to give. Our first is through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering to support International Missions. Our ingathering will be on Dec. 15 with a goal of $11,000. Our second is Christmas Food Baskets. Like our Thanksgiving baskets, we will provide holiday meals for 10 families.  — We collected $1000 for Thanksgiving baskets, the leftover amount will cover food items for this seasons baskets. Thank you for your generosity.  The distribution will be through your Sunday School class. Contact Jeff Bray, Randi Gallop, or Suzanne Craig for more Info.

FBCC Children’s Ministry News

    Hello church family,

The Home Life Topics have come to an end and the blessings of seeing so many people attend and glean from God’s word have me on a spiritual high. I also want to thank each of the small group leaders, speakers, and childcare workers for making those evenings a great experience for all.

As Advent approaches, our church will gather around the Advent wreath each Sunday to remember how Christ brings us joy, peace, love, and hope. This year each family with young children will receive an Advent devotional called “Wonders of His Love: Finding Jesus in Isaiah” by Champ Thornton. I hope this family devotional will help you prepare for celebrating the arrival of the Messiah.

I also encourage you to attend and invite others to the Foundations of Parenting conference on Saturday, January 11. Our speakers, Brent and Janet Aucoin, teach foundational truths from God’s word that will inspire us to be the godly parents our children need. You can register online. Childcare and lunch will be provided.

As we look forward to Christmas, may we stand in the sandals of those who waited for centuries for the One God had prophesied would come. Let us remember He will come again. Merry Christmas!

A Word From Pastor Duane

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”  These words to a popular Christmas song sound pleasant, and for some, it is the most wonderful time of the year! The decorations, the music, the lights, the busy-ness, the gift giving, especially Jesus, the Greatest gift – the most wonderful time of the year!

For others though it is NOT! Christmas time is stressful, BUSY, full of hurt, unpleasant memories, and is a hard season – even with Jesus.

Wherever you land on this, embrace the celebration of the birth of Jesus, not as a seasonal focus, but the birth of the Savior for ALL of mankind, who provides hope, life, light and salvation for ETERNITY for everyone who will believe in Him and trust Him to be their Savior! Merry Christmas!

In other news:  Shortly, we anticipate deciding whether to purchase or not purchase the property on the East end of Charlotte. I have written a 14-day devotional for us to work through together. Pick one up and join me in seeking the Lord’s direction – together.

Christmas Eve services are December 24th at 6 pm AND 7 pm. Choose 1 - bring your family, a friend, a co-worker, and someone who doesn’t know Jesus, and let’s celebrate His birth.

2025 is coming! Now is a great time to be committed to Him and His church, then, as God gives us life, we will be connected to Him intimately, to each other, and enthusiastically tackle together the God-sized endeavors He has for us.

I love you all! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
