First Baptist Church Charlotte Newsletter
June 2026
The Missions Experience
It is June, and that means Vacation Bible School. The month explodes with kids and adventure. Let’s pray for each child and family, not just for the event, but well beyond the days they are here. This is our community, and why we invest in the future, like the Building 139 project.
In our Bible in One Year Study, we’re beginning the OT books of Psalms and Proverbs and reading Romans in the NT. Visit the link on our website’s Home Page or get a paper copy from the foyer. Join us as we read through God’s Word together.
Don’t forget to visit the church’s website to see about What’s Happening at FBC Charlotte. Read about and sign up for events, give tithes, offerings, and to Project 139 or to contact us.
We have an ASL interpreter available at our second service!

Our Mission Opportunities
VBS is here!! May 31 – June 4th. What a way to kick off the Summer. Please pray for our teachers, helpers, and most of all, the children who will be attending for their safety, and that their hearts will be open to God’s word. Thank you again for being a church that loves children. Without your commitment, we could not offer events like VBS to our community. Thank you for Loving Charlotte.
FBCC Youth Ministry News
Thank you all so much for supporting our youth at the youth camp fundraiser. It was a huge success, and after the students paid a $25 deposit, the camp cost of every student who participated in the fundraiser was fully covered! We are so grateful for your generosity toward our students and for loving them not just in word, but also in action.
We had several students graduate from high school in May, and they will complete their time in the youth group at the end of summer. Please ask them what their plans are and encourage them to seek the Lord in all they do. It can be hard for those who stay in the area but are no longer in the youth group to find their place of belonging in the church outside of the Sunday morning service. I encourage you to intentionally find, invite, and include them in areas of ministry you are involved in.
I am excited about the youth VBS class and am hoping students who don’t normally attend our church will come. Please invite any teenagers you know!
With love to you all,
John Mark

A Word From Pastor Duane
Vacation Bible School, children and youth camps, warmer days – and nights – we know what those things mean – it’s Summertime. Summer brings with it more time for leisure-type activities, a less structured schedule, and the opportunity to be busier than ever.
May I encourage you, as you enjoy summertime, prioritize the activities, schedule, and opportunities you have based on your relationship with the Lord. Use the time you have wisely and for things that will draw you and your family more closely to the Lord. These can be done; it just takes intentionality – be intentional.
Please pray for VBS. The Lord has provided more than 60 volunteers serving children, youth, and adults the week of May 31 through June 4, each evening from 5-8 pm. Please also pray for the Lord to continue to provide everything we need for the new facility. We have just colored in another leaf, equaling $50,000! God has blessed us with progress, and we get to depend on Him to continue to provide. Thank you for giving!
For you who will be away from our church family, please enjoy your time away and remember to honor Jesus in everything you do.
I love you all! Continue to pray for and give to Project 139! I love you all!
